The realistic view
A 124-room Crowne Plaza that opened in June 2026 inside the Turkish Basketball Federation's Basketball Development Centre in Kazlıçeşme, next to Yedikule Fortress and the Theodosian land walls. It is built for meetings and events (a 240-seat conference hall plus 7 meeting rooms) and offers free on-site parking, but there is no pool or spa, and the surroundings are car-oriented rather than walkable.

Rail transit · 375 m
Istanbul Airport (IST) is about 45 km away by road and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) about 34 km in a straight line. The hotel does not run an airport shuttle.
The hotel sits on 10. Yıl Caddesi in Kazlıçeşme, within the Basketball Development Centre campus built on the site of the former Abdi İpekçi Arena, right beside Yedikule Fortress and the historic land walls. IHG puts Sultanahmet Square about 5 km away. Tripadvisor gives the location a walkability score of 42 out of 100 and says a car is recommended; the better-rated restaurants nearby are 1.5–2 km away. Olivium Outlet and Zeruj Port shopping centres are a short taxi ride. IHG lists the Bakırköy suburban rail line, ferries and the metro as public transport options; there is no local hotel shuttle.
The stay
Of the 124 rooms, 120 are standard (29 m²) and 4 are deluxe (41 m²), spread over just two floors. Rooms have high ceilings and plenty of daylight and face the garden, the inner courtyard or the historic city walls — ask for a wall-view room if the view matters. Blackout curtains, a work desk, minibar and extra-long beds are standard, and all rooms are non-smoking. Check-in is 3 pm, check-out noon, and the minimum check-in age is 18.
Tripadvisor lists the rooms as soundproofed. The hotel is inside a sports complex whose main arena holds 10,000 and hosts Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray home games, so expect traffic and crowds around the campus on game and event nights. As the hotel only opened in June 2026, there are not yet enough guest reviews to judge noise levels.
Parking is free; valet costs EUR 15 per day. There is no airport transfer or local shuttle, so budget for taxis. Breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms vary by rate.
IHG confirms there is no pool, and no spa, sauna or hammam is advertised. The only wellness facility is a fitness centre.

Istanbul · Zeytinburnu · ★★★★
A 162-room, four-storey LEED Platinum Hampton opened in September 2016, a 5-7 minute walk from Kazlıçeşme Marmaray station, with breakfast, Wi-Fi and covered parking included in the rate. No pool or spa, rooms are around 22 m², and the Old City is a train ride away rather than a walk.
Istanbul · Zeytinburnu · ★★★★★
A 229-room hotel opened in April 2024 on the Zeytinburnu waterfront, just outside the historic peninsula, with Marmara Sea views, a walkable Marmaray station and a 10-15 minute drive to Sultanahmet. Good value for business and family stays, but you are outside the tourist core.
Istanbul · Zeytinburnu · ★★★
ibis Istanbul Zeytinburnu was Türkiye's first ibis, opened in 2007 beside the Novotel on the Kazlıçeşme waterfront: 228 rooms over 7 floors, many with Marmara sea views, free parking and the Zeytinburnu metro-tram interchange about 1 km away, putting Sultanahmet 30 minutes off by tram; the building shows its age, while breakfast and staff draw consistent praise.
