The realistic view

Beyond the first impression

Verified information only

A 137-room seafront resort operating since 2016 on Ünye's coastal highway - the most established branded property on the Ordu-Samsun stretch, often called the area's best in reviews. A sandy private beach, indoor and outdoor pools, a kids' pool, spa-fitness floor, five meeting rooms and an in-house Starbucks serve both family holidays and corporate traffic, with free breakfast at the Oney restaurant. Fair warning for Black Sea swimming: the season runs roughly July-September with changeable seas, and road noise on highway-facing rooms is the one structural flaw.

What it does well

  • Those looking for a beachfront family holiday on the Black Sea; sandy beach, outdoor and indoor pools and a children's pool all in one
  • Those with business along the Ünye-Fatsa-Terme line; 5 meeting rooms and the most corporate accommodation in the region
  • Those on a Black Sea coastal tour; right on the Samsun-Ordu D010 route, with large free parking

What to watch for

  • Those expecting guaranteed Mediterranean-style sea and sun; the Black Sea season is short (July-September) and sea conditions are variable
  • Quiet seekers: Those seeking absolute quiet; rooms on the Devlet Sahil Yolu side pick up road noise
  • Travelling with pets: Travelers with pets; not accepted

Location

Ordu, Unye

Atatürk Mah. Devlet Sahil Yolu No:230, 52300 Ünye/Ordu

Samsun-Çarşamba Airport (SZF) is 60 km, ~50 minutes by car (paid hotel shuttle available); Ordu-Giresun Airport (OGU) is 83 km, ~1 hour 10 minutes. Both airports can be used; choose according to flight times.

The hotel is at the eastern entrance to Ünye, on the Devlet Sahil Yolu (D010), right on the sea; the Ünye center and bazaar are 2-3 km, Ünye Castle ~7 km, the Yason Cape Church ~15 km, and Çınarsu Nature Park nearby. Fatsa is 20 km, central Ordu 70-75 km (Boztepe cable car ~1 hour), Samsun ~95 km. Samsun-Çarşamba Airport (SZF) is 60 km (~50 minutes, paid hotel shuttle available), Ordu-Giresun Airport (OGU) 83 km. The coastal road location is ideal for routes by car; the dolmuş line to the center passes along the road.

The stay

Editor's notes

Room types

137 rooms: standard, suite, corner and accessible categories; sea, city and land view options are available. Air conditioning, LCD TV, minibar, safe and shower are standard. The sea side is the clear choice for both the view and quiet; the land side faces the Devlet Sahil Yolu and picks up road noise, so have 'sea view, upper floor' noted on your booking. Room heating during a winter stay was criticized in one review; check at check-in. Renovated floors exist, and a 'renovated room' can be requested.

Noise & sound insulation

The only structural noise source is the Devlet Sahil Yolu: truck and vehicle noise is heard at night in rooms on the land side. A sea-side room on an upper floor resolves the problem entirely. On wedding and event evenings the area around the halls gets busy.

Extra fees & things to know

Breakfast is included; the SZF airport and local shuttle are paid. Spa treatments and Starbucks are extra. A card pre-authorization may be requested at check-in. The property is on record as being flexible with refunds for early check-out, but don't count on it as a rule; check your rate terms.

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Ordu

Ordu · Altinordu · ★★★★★

A 115-room five-star hotel in Ordu's Altınordu district, a 20-minute walk from the centre - TripAdvisor's #1 in the city and the base for its hazelnut-and-textile business traffic. A heated indoor pool, hamam spa, sauna, gym, three restaurants and a rooftop dining room with sea-and-city views keep it working year-round; breakfast is included and reviews highlight English-speaking, guest-minded staff. Boztepe's cable car and the waterfront are close, OGU airport 15-17 km. Two caveats: summer A/C complaints are on record, and one source lists the indoor pool as surcharged - clarify both at check-in.

Hampton by Hilton Ordu

Ordu · Altinordu · ★★★

Opened in December 2011 as Turkey's first Hampton, this 79-room, 3-star hotel sits one block from the beach in Ordu's Akyazı district, about 10 minutes by car from the city centre. Breakfast, Wi-Fi and open-air parking are included; rooms are compact at around 21 m², and the outdoor pool still shown on some booking sites has reportedly been removed.

Wyndham Garden Çambaşı

Ordu · Kabaduz · ★★★★

An 80-room mountain hotel that opened in late 2024 at roughly 1,850 m on the Çambaşı Plateau, right beside the Çambaşı Ski Resort in inland Ordu. It works well as a winter ski base or a summer highland retreat, but it is remote: there is no shop nearby, and guests need to plan for meals and supplies.
