The realistic view
Canopy by Hilton Istanbul Taksim is the brand's first hotel in Türkiye, opened in December 2025 on Tarlabaşı Boulevard as part of the Taksim 360 regeneration project, about 300 m from Taksim Square and Istiklal Avenue. It is a 110-room boutique-scale city hotel with free parking, a gym, sauna and a wine bar inside a 150-year-old cistern, but no pool; street-facing rooms pick up traffic and nightlife noise, so ask for a courtyard-facing room if you are a light sleeper.

Şehit Muhtar Mah., Tarlabaşı Bulvarı No: 122-140, 34435 Beyoğlu/İstanbul
Rail transit · 200 m
Istanbul Airport (IST) is about 37 km away, 50-80 minutes depending on traffic; Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) is about 55 km, 60-90 minutes. The hotel does not run an airport shuttle; Havaist buses leave from Taksim and the hotel can book a taxi.
The hotel sits on Tarlabaşı Boulevard in the Şehit Muhtar neighbourhood, inside the Taksim 360 regeneration project. Taksim Square and the start of Istiklal Avenue are about 300 m / 5-7 minutes on foot; Taksim metro station (M2) with the funicular link to Kabataş is 550-600 m away. Galata Tower is 1.7 km, Dolmabahçe Palace 1.8 km, the Grand Bazaar 4.2 km and Hagia Sophia/Sultanahmet around 5 km (reviews mention taxis at roughly 300-350 TL). The heritage tram and bus stops are outside the door. The Tarlabaşı side is lively into the night with bar traffic; this part of Beyoğlu is central and busy, not a quiet residential pocket.
The stay
Tarlabaşı Boulevard is a busy arterial road morning and evening; reviews of street-facing rooms repeatedly mention traffic, horns, sirens, the call to prayer and noise from nearby bars. The glazing blocks a good deal of it but not enough for very light sleepers. Courtyard-facing rooms are noticeably quieter, though the garden can carry noise late when there are events or match screenings. The hotel is new and there are no recurring complaints about door or room insulation.
Breakfast is charged separately on most rates (reviews quote 1,550 TL per person). A deposit of 5,000-7,500 TL is blocked on the card at check-in and can take up to 14 days to be released. Pet fee: €75 non-refundable on the Hilton site, 3,750 TL per stay on Trip.com. Valet €15. Early check-in, quiet-room or upgrade requests may be offered as paid options at the desk. Meeting rooms and spa treatments are paid; sauna and gym are free.

Marriott's first Moxy in Türkiye, opened in June 2025 in the historic Afrika Han, one block off İstiklal Avenue, with 167 compact rooms. Expect a bar-as-reception concept, no pool or spa, and a short walk to Taksim metro.
Istanbul · Beyoğlu · ★★★★
A 42-room, no-frills Marriott property a few minutes' walk from Taksim Square, reopened in 2024 in the former Senator Hotel building. Location and transport links are the main draw; rooms are compact and street-side rooms can be noisy at night.
Istanbul · Beyoğlu · ★★★★★
Sofitel Istanbul Taksim is a 202-room hotel a few steps from Taksim Square in Beyoğlu, opened in November 2019 on the site of the historic Maxim nightclub. A modern block sits behind the preserved façade, with 33 suites, a Club Millésime lounge, an indoor-pool spa with hammam and a rooftop bar. İstiklal Avenue, Cihangir and the Taksim metro are all within a short walk; the trade-off is street and square noise, so upper and rear-facing rooms matter if you want to sleep well.
