A 172-room Hilton Garden Inn opened in July 2022 in Erzurum's Yakutiye district, across from MNG Mall and about 11 km from both Palandöken ski area and the airport. It offers an indoor pool, sauna, hammam, a 24-hour gym and free covered parking; breakfast is not included in every rate, and a few summer 2025 guests reported weak air conditioning.
What it does well
•Business and institutional visitors to Erzurum who want chain-standard rooms and on-site parking
•Skiers happy to trade ski-in/ski-out convenience for a 15-17 minute transfer to Palandöken
•Families who want an indoor pool, a kids' pool and confirmed connecting rooms
What to watch for
•Breakfast is not included in every rate and there were air-conditioning complaints in summer 2025; pick a breakfast-inclusive rate and check the room's cooling at check-in during summer.
•Anyone wanting to step out of the door onto the slopes; Palandöken is about 11 km away
•Explorers on foot: Travellers who want to walk to the historic centre (Yakutiye Madrasa, Three Tombs, the castle)

The nearest airport is Erzurum Airport (ERZ). Hilton gives the road distance as 11 km, while booking sites show 7.9-8 km in a straight line. The airport lies in the opposite direction from Palandöken. Hilton states that no airport shuttle is available, whereas Enuygun lists a paid transfer, so confirm transfer options with the hotel before booking.
The hotel sits in the Yakutiye district, Ömer Nasuhi Bilmen neighbourhood, directly across from MNG Mall, which is about a 5-minute walk. Olympic Park, with Erzurum's only indoor tennis court plus sports pitches and walking paths, is next door. Atatürk House Museum is 1.9 km away in a straight line, and Booking puts Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque at 4.5 km. Tripadvisor gives the location a walkability grade of 37 out of 100 and recommends a car, although it counts 21 restaurants within 0.75 miles. One guest notes that buses to the city centre leave from across the mall. Palandöken Ski Center is 11 km away according to Hilton; a guest reports a 15-17 minute drive and says the hotel arranges transfers for skiers.
The stay
Editor's notes
Noise & sound insulation
The hotel is not on a busy main road, and one guest describes the location as tranquil. A nearby school can bring weekday traffic at drop-off and pick-up times. Tripadvisor lists the rooms as soundproofed. With event capacity for 1,600 guests, a ballroom and live music at the lobby bar, rooms near the lower floors may be livelier on wedding or event days, so ask for a higher floor if quiet is a priority. No widespread noise complaints were found.
Extra fees & things to know
Breakfast is charged separately unless your rate includes it. An extra bed costs TRY 1,000 per night according to Enuygun (confirm the current price). A credit-card pre-authorisation or cash deposit may be requested at check-in for incidentals. Smoking in a non-smoking room incurs a cleaning fee. Massages and spa treatments, the ski room, equipment rental, ski lessons, meeting rooms, laundry and EV charging are all paid extras. One guest wrote that ski rental at the hotel cost about twice as much as other rental shops in the area.

A 94-room city hotel opened in December 2022 opposite Erzurum City Hospital in Yıldızkent, one of the first international brands in the city. Its winter setup is the differentiator: twice-daily ski shuttles to Palandöken with a dedicated ski room and attendant at the resort, plus underfloor heating and VRF climate control in every room. No pool (sauna and plunge pool instead); a 45-room expansion with a 500-seat hall has received environmental approval, so construction activity is possible in coming years.
