The realistic view
An 84-room Hampton opened in 2024 in Istanbul's Merter wholesale textile district, about 270 m from Merter metro station and right beside the E-5 highway. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are included and there is a 24-hour gym, but no pool, spa or on-site car park; the old city is 25-40 minutes away by metro or tram.

Rail transit · 433 m
Istanbul Airport (IST) is about 42 km by road: 33-45 minutes without traffic and noticeably longer at peak times. By public transport, the M11 metro with changes at Gayrettepe and Yenikapı reaches Merter in around 1 hour 20 minutes, and an hourly Havaist bus to Merter takes about the same. Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) is roughly 37 km away in a straight line and depends on bridge traffic. The hotel does not run a free shuttle.
The hotel stands on the corner of Nadide Street and General Ali Rıza Gürcan Street, directly beside the E-5 (D-100) highway service road. Merter station on the M1 metro line is about 270 m away (a 4-minute walk) and the Tınaztepe bus stop is roughly 75 m away. Booking sites put Zeytinburnu station, where the T1 tram to Sultanahmet also stops, at an 8-minute walk. Guests report 25-40 minutes to the historic centre by rail; Hilton quotes 30 minutes by car to Eminönü, Sultanahmet and Taksim, which stretches in E-5 traffic. A Migros supermarket and a Kahve Dünyası café are across the street and the Marmara Forum mall is 1.2 km away. The neighbourhood is mostly wholesale clothing showrooms, so evening dining and strolling options are limited.
The stay
The building sits right next to the E-5 highway and a busy street. Rooms are soundproofed and have blackout curtains, and several guests say traffic is inaudible with the windows shut. One Tripadvisor reviewer, however, was given a highway-facing room where the air conditioning failed, could not open the window because of traffic noise and slept badly. A single Trip.com review reports a building being demolished about 10 m from the hotel with night-time noise; the date is unclear and no other source confirms it. Light sleepers should request a rear-facing room on an upper floor.
There is no pool, spa, sauna or hammam. A fitness centre is open 24 hours, and one Hotels.com guest singled it out as very good.

Alternatives
Istanbul · Gungoren · ★★★★★
A 211-room ibis Styles opened in 2021 in Merter, Istanbul's textile and fashion wholesale district, and unusually well equipped for a budget brand with a 1,500 m² gym, indoor pool, hammam, sauna and Thai spa. Merter metro (M1) is a 4-5 minute walk and Laleli and the Grand Bazaar 20 minutes by metro; service is stripped back and weekday wholesale traffic is heavy.
Istanbul · Gungoren · ★★★★★
A 200-room hotel in Istanbul's Merter textile-trade district, serving wholesale shoppers, business travelers, and medical-tourism guests, with an indoor heated pool, Turkish bath, sauna, and free parking; street-facing rooms pick up main-road noise and breakfast is extra on some rates.
Istanbul · Zeytinburnu · ★★★★
A 78-room city hotel at the western edge of the historic peninsula, a four-minute walk from the Merkezefendi T1 tram stop.
