The realistic view
An 18-room boutique hotel opened in October 2024 inside a restored 1890s apartment-hotel building on a side street in Asmalımescit, Beyoğlu, two minutes on foot from Şişhane metro and the Tünel funicular. Most rooms have kitchenettes and the building doubles as a contemporary art space, but street-facing rooms can pick up late-night bar noise and early-morning refuse collection, and breakfast is charged separately on many rates.

Rail transit · 106 m
Istanbul Airport (IST) is roughly 32-35 km away and Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) about 47 km. The hotel runs no airport shuttle, so plan on a taxi, a private transfer, or the Havaist bus to Taksim followed by the metro to Şişhane.
The hotel sits on General Yazgan Sokak at the Tünel end of İstiklal Avenue, right beside Asmalımescit's lanes of bars and meyhanes. Şişhane metro station and the historic Tünel funicular are about a 2-minute walk; one stop on the Tünel drops you in Karaköy for the tram across to Sultanahmet. Galata Tower is roughly 5 minutes on foot and the Pera Museum about 350 m away, and Tripadvisor gives the address a walkability grade of 100/100.
The stay
Inside the building it is generally quiet, and one magazine review found the soundproofing very good. However, several guest reviews describe bar music until around midnight, bottle disposal and early-morning garbage trucks in street-facing rooms, most noticeably on Friday nights. Light sleepers should ask for a room that does not face the street.
Breakfast is extra on most rates (about EUR 20). Breakfast-inclusive bookings carry a EUR 20 per-night supplement for a third guest. Marriott states in-room Wi-Fi is complimentary for Bonvoy members booking direct, while booking sites list Wi-Fi as free. One guest reported being charged in full on two different cards at checkout, so it is worth checking the final folio.
There is no pool, spa, sauna or gym.

Alternatives
Istanbul · Beyoğlu · ★★★★
A 50-room boutique hotel (16 suites) in a restored 19th-century Camondo family building in Asmalımescit, about 100 m from Şişhane metro and a short walk from İstiklal Avenue and Galata Tower. Expect a rooftop restaurant with Golden Horn views, but no pool, spa or parking, and an adults-only (18+) check-in policy.
Istanbul · Beyoğlu · ★★★★
A 79-room boutique hotel in an early-1900s building opposite Pera Palace, independent until it joined Hilton's Tapestry Collection in May 2026. Expect high-ceilinged rooms, an indoor-pool spa and a 7th-floor rooftop restaurant; breakfast costs extra and street-facing rooms can be noisy at night.
Istanbul · Beyoğlu · ★★★★★
A Beyoğlu hotel on the lane between Meşrutiyet Avenue and Asmalımescit, a few minutes' walk from the Pera Museum and Galata Tower, with indoor and outdoor pools, a hammam and 24-hour dining. Guests rate the location highly but often report small rooms, patchy maintenance and nightlife noise.
